WANTED: ALIVE
by her husband

Memoirs

Long before they became auspices, Ara and Kiru were wild foxes, cunning and untamed. They met in a battle over sacred ground, a vicious fight that ended in mutual admiration. Over time, that admiration became something deeper — a love forged in blood and ambition. As they ascended, Kiru built a cult of worshippers, growing his influence with every sacrifice made in his name. Ara, never content with servitude, found her own power through a village that worshipped her in secret. She promised them protection, but in truth, she used them for her own means — manipulating their devotion, feeding on their sacrifices. But Kiru's hunger for dominance grew. What was once a shared empire became a power struggle. When he set his sights on her village, Ara knew he wouldn’t stop until they belonged to him — or were wiped out. Rather than bow, she turned on him first. Allying with the humans she once used, she tricked Kiru and sealed him inside a blade, ensuring that his influence would die out before he could consume what was hers. But the village feared both foxes, and once Kiru was gone, they betrayed Ara in turn. They sealed her within the shrine meant to honor her, ensuring she would never rise again.

Yet Kiru was never one to be outmaneuvered so easily. As a final act of defiance, he bound a fragment of his own soul to Ara, birthing Yasha — a fox spirit born of his curse. She was meant to be Ara’s undoing, a living weapon that would eventually break her from the inside out.Ara considered consuming Yasha to rid herself of Kiru’s lingering influence. But in the endless silence of her prison, the spirit was all she had. Instead of destroying her, she kept her close, watching and waiting.Ara and the fox spirit spent their time in the liminal space tending to the shrine and its labyrinthian garden. Centuries passed, and then — suddenly, the shrine shattered. Kiru had returned. His wrath was so great that, in his fury, he unwittingly freed Ara. The moment she realized what had happened, she fled, abandoning Yasha.Ara is now in hiding, and Yasha has been sent to live with one of Kiru’s allies. But Kiru is hunting. And Ara knows it’s only a matter of time before their battle begins again.

Obscura

apathetic, arrogant, calculating, cold, composed, cynical, detached, distrustful, elusive, independent, inquisitive, resilient, socially unaware

  • Accidentally Terrifying. She has a habit of staring too long, appearing out of nowhere, and speaking in a tone that makes even casual conversations feel like death omens.

  • Collector of Cursed Things. If an object is rumored to be haunted or cursed, she wants it. The worse the curse, the better.

  • Dream Walker. When she sleeps deeply, her spirit sometimes wanders. She’s been known to slip into the dreams of others without meaning to.

  • Mirror, Mirror. She doesn’t always trust her own reflection and will sometimes avoid looking in mirrors for too long.

  • Nap Queen. She can and will sleep for days if left undisturbed. Waking her up before she’s ready is a death wish.

  • Regal but Lazy. She could exert dominance and make herself known, but that sounds exhausting. She’d rather people just fear her naturally.

  • Sake Snob. She enjoys drinking but has a refined taste. She will judge you for drinking bad alcohol.

  • The Smell of Death. Her scent lingers long after she’s gone — wilted roses, rice wine, amber, and blood. Those attuned to the supernatural sometimes notice it even if they’ve never met her.

  • Too Old for This Shit. She’s lived long enough that mortal lifetimes blur together. She sometimes forgets how much time has passed and occasionally references events from centuries ago as if they were recent.

Cipher

  • IC =/= OOC. I’m not my character, my character is not me. I’m happily married. Friends are great, but don't flirt with me OOC.

  • Consent and communication are paramount to interaction. Let me know if you’re not feeling the scene or uncomfortable; I’ll do the same.

  • 21+ only. Keep things third person, please.

  • Quality over quantity. In-game, expect 1-2 paragraphs; on Discord, expect 2-5.

  • I prefer plot-heavy connections and long-term non-romantic bonds. No ERP.

  • I’m interested in dark and mature themes intermixed with conflict.

  • Lore-bending is fine, but I’m not interested in lore-breaking, WoL, self-inserts, kinning, or alternate universes.

  • Permanent death and disfigurement, metagaming, godmodding, and powerplaying are also no-goes for me. Injuries are fine, talk to me about it first.

  • Dice rolls for combat and determiners when not improvising.
